Doctrinal Beliefs

  1. We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

    Genesis 1:1,26,27;3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Cor. 13:14; I Jn. 5:7-8

  2. We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings; His substitutionary atoning death; bodily resurrection; ascension into heaven; and perpetual intercession for His people. We believe that He is one and the same as God. He was fully human and fully God.

    Matt. 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Cor. 15:3,4; I Tim 2:5

  3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower in ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, either at the time of or subsequent to regeneration, which is a separate work from the indwelling Spirit for salvation. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit; and in the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit . We believe the development of these gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of the local church leadership.

    II Cor 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1;8, 8:14-17, 19:1,2; I Cor 2:12, 3:16; Eph 1:13

  4. We believe that all the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, and that they are the infallible rule of faith and practice.

    II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

  5. We believe all people are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of Godís creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are separated from God and responsible for our own sin. We have all sinned.

    Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-06; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

  6. We believe salvation is Godís free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as Godís offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sinís penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

    Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galations 3:26; John 3:16

  7. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: Baptism, and The Lordís Supper. We believe in water baptism by immersion and communion; both of which are open to all believers in Jesus Christ.

    Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4; I Cor 11:23-30

  8. We believe that those who are called by the name of Christ should depart from iniquity, understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin only begins a life long process of change and growth in each of us toward the character of Christ.

    II Timothy 2:19; Galations 5: 22-24

  9. We believe that the five ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher are functional within the Body of Christ until the Lordís return. Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the Church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of ministry, that the body of Christ be edified.

    Ephesians 4:11-16

  10. We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ with His saints upon the earth, the resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal separation from God, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God.

    Acts 1:9-11; Daniel 12:2; I Thess 4:13-5:11; Rev. 22:1-7
